At Caulfield in Melbourne, Arrowfield Stud's multiple stakes-winning stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a prized Gr1 success when undefeated boom juvenile Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt-Extremely, by Hussonet) defied his tricky barrier to score by just under 2-lengths for trainer Mick Price in the $1.5 million Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) for 2YOs. Providing the stable with a quinella, fellow colt Flying Artie (Artie Schiller-Flying Ruby, by Rubiton) overcome his even wider draw to rattle home for 2nd place, ahead of the filly Zamzam (Redoute's Choice-Fleur De'here, by Dehere). A $100,000 purchase from the draft of Bell River at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale Summer Book last year, Extreme Choice took his record to 3 wins (also including last start's Gr3 Chairman's Handicap & Restricted Listed $500,000 Inglis Nursery in Sydney) from 3 starts for $1,299,750 earnings. Price, who said he felt for Flying Artie who got "speared off at the top of the straight", is heading towards the Golden Slipper Stakes with the winner. The Blue Diamond result was notable for sales company Inglis on the eve of their Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, with the first four home in the Blue Diamond all graduates of Inglis sales.
