On day one of The Championships at Royal Randwick in Sydney, Arrowfield Stud's Gr1-winning high profile stallion Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) celebrated an elite race trifecta when 2YO colt Invader (Snitzel-Flame of Sydney, by Encosta de Lago) scored by 0.8 length for trainers Peter & Paul Snowden in the $1 million Gr1 Inglis Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO New Zealand-bred colt Summer Passage (Snitzel-Subsequent, by Encosta de Lago) & 2YO colt Trapeze Artist (Snitzel-Treppes, by Domesday). Bred by Arrowfield Stud, Invader is raced by the China Horse Club who paid $475,000 for him at the 2016 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast. Others to share in the ownership of the valuable youngster are Newgate Farm, Aquis Farm, Matthew Sandblom's Horse Ventures and America's WinStar Farm. Invader, who is a three-quarter brother to Hong Kong-based Gr2 winner and Gr1-placed sprinter Not Listenin'tome, improved his record to 2 wins and 2 placings (including the Gr2 ATC Todman Stakes) from 6 starts for $865,125 earnings.
